1 - Marc TOMMASI, France (Marseille)

Marc Tommasi about his DJing:

My style is strongly influenced by the milonga of Buenos-Aires where energy and variety combine with tanguera poetry to create an emotional bath in which everyone can melt. Attentive and always curious about the hybridisations and changes that all the DJs of the world brew, to vivify the traditional milonga !

2 - Lorena DJI, France (Paris)

Lorena about her DJing:

Passionate about music for many years, after falling in love with tango in 2002, she felt in love with tango music in 2009, and musicalisation internship in Tarbes. Since DJ Lorena has musicalised many Milongas in Paris, Lyon and the south of France. His lexical field extends from the 1930s to the 1950s.

The main thing: a very "cerrado" abraso and the pleasure of the dancers.

3 - Ricardo PEIXOTO, England

Ricardo about his DJing:

I am a tango DJ who leaves the ego at the door. My aim is to play music fort the dancers, to inspire an emergency cabeceo, to facilitate a nice ronda, to keep the smile going in the end of a tanda. I have been DJing for since 2005, and DJed in UK, Portugal, France, Switzerland, Italy and Norway.

Currently I am the resident DJ at La Milonga Ideal in Warwick. Strongly influenced by the Porteño way of DJing, I adapt my music to the dance floor, and enjoy seeing the dancefloor reacting to my music. Each tanda is a chapter and each milonga a whole story, different all the time.

4 - Tina FERRARI, Italy

Tina about her DJing:

It was the music that inspired Tina Ferrari to start dancing tango in 2003, and when she’s not on the dance floor, you can find her at the DJ’s console, with her selections of music from the Golden Age of tango.  Tina’s first experience as a DJ was almost by accident in Buenos Aires in 2008, at a small milonga called “Asi se Baila el Tango”, at Peru 571 in the historic neighborhood of San Telmo.

She has been the DJ at numerous milongas and encuentros in Italy and around Europe, and has also been the co-organizer of two encuentros : M.M. Elite in Bologna, Italy, and Romance del Lago in Bled, Slovenia. Tina is currently based in Bologna, Italy, and continues to travel, dancing and sharing her traditional musical selections.

6 - Jan HENRICK, Germany

Jan about her DJing:

Jan-Henrik thinks of himself as a pure social tango dancer and from time to time also as dedicated DJ. In Milongas of Berlin, his hometown you can hear his music often and on Encuentros all over Europe a few times a year.
As a tango DJ, Jan-Henrik selects every Tanda for its unique moment and trusting on his inner voice as an experienced dancer - asking himself: Would I want to dance to this music now. He will create a particular and special atmosphere for the milonga, considering the mood of the dancers at the pista at a given moment in time.He also carefully selects his cortinas, which have to support the whole structure of the evening.

There will be simple rhythms with good energy up to dramatic and melancholic moments, thus leading the dancers through a kaleidoscope of emotions throughout the evening.
